SHIRLEY HUNTER JEFFERSON

Shirley Hunter Jefferson, 72, transitioned peacefully from this earthly life to eternal rest Tuesday morning, July 16, 2024, at Prisma Health Richland Hospital, Columbia.  She was born in Sumter County on Jan. 27, 1952, to the late Wyatt Hunter and Mary Harris Hunter and was widow of Leroy Jefferson Jr.

Shirley graduated from Hillcrest High School in Dalzell and retired from Pilgrim’s Pride, Sumter, in 2015.  In her early years, she attended Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held at noon Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church, 7355 Camden Highway, Rembert with the Rev. Anthony L. Taylor Sr., pastor.

The family is receiving relatives and friends at the home, 5145 Borden Road, Rembert.

Interment will follow in Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church Yard Cemetery.
