2 dead after Sumter hotel shooting on Sunday morning; police offer up to $5K reward for information

Sumter Police Department is working to identify suspects after a fatal shooting at a Broad Street hotel on Sunday morning.

Officers responded to a call at about 4:30 a.m. on Aug. 18 about a shooting at the Sleep Inn on Broad Street. Two people were found dead at the scene, according to Tonyia McGirt, public information officer for the police department.

Details are not available at this time, as the investigation is in the early stages, McGirt said.

A reward of up to $5,000 is available for information leading to an arrest.
