ROBERT BROWNFIELD DINKINS III

CHARLESTON — Robert Brownfield Dinkins III died Friday, April 5, 2024, at his home in Charleston.
Born Aug. 4, 1964, in Sumter, he was the son of Beverly Jones Dinkins and the late Robert Brownfield Dinkins Jr. He graduated from the University of South Carolina in Columbia and worked for North State Acceptance finance company in Charleston. Robby had a great passion for hunting and fishing, but he had a greater passion and love for his precious daughters, family and special friends.
Survivors in addition to his mother, include: two daughters, Claire Dinkins and Kate Dinkins, both of Lexington; a sister, Lawri Dinkins Brunson of Hanahan; two brothers, Philip Carson Dinkins of Blythewood and Brian Phifer Dinkins of North Charleston; a niece, Kaitlin Russell of Sumter; and a nephew, Philip Bennett of Spokane, Washington.
There will be a private burial at Dinkins Mill Family Cemetery. The Rev. Dr. David Dinkins will be officiating.
Pallbearers will be Steve Dinkins, Langdon Dinkins, Hank Tindal, Mike Dinkins, Rob Dinkins and the Rev. Scott Dinkins.
Memorials may be sent to a charity of your choice.
Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
