FRED LEON LLOYD JR.

WEDGEFIELD — Fred Leon Lloyd Jr., 79, husband of Marie E. “Penny” Webster Lloyd, died Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at Prisma Health Tuomey in Sumter.
Born Jan. 3, 1945, in Florence, he was a son of the late Fred Leon Lloyd Sr. and the late Virginia Lucille Fields Lloyd.  He retired from Union Local 776 out of Charleston after 47 years of service.  
Survivors include his wife of 58 years; three children, Guy Lloyd (Carolann), Christy Flowers (Paul) and Kelley Umbarger (Billy); grandchildren, Ryan Lloyd (Sara), Rita Marie Ricard (Phillip), Jordan Cole, Jade Cole, Jesse Cole, Ethan Watford, Luke Gerlt, Kynsli Umbarger, Colton Umbarger and Dayeln Umbarger; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Gail Cannon (Tommy), Kathy Lloyd and Judy Lloyd; brother, Ricky Lloyd; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Lloyd; and several brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 7, 2024, in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home chapel with Mr. Carroll Cole officiating. Burial will be in the Grooms Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday, July 7, 2024, at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home.
