ERNEST COOKE JR.

Ernest Cooke Jr., 72, husband of Evelyn Bracey Cooke and son of the late Ernest Cooke Sr. and Blanche Capers Cooke, was born on Sept. 3, 1954, in Lee County. He departed this life on Monday, Oct. 26, 2026, at his residence.

Public viewing will be held on Sunday, Nov. 1, 2026, from 2 to 6 p.m. at Job’s Mortuary Inc.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 2, 2026, at Jehovah Missionary Baptist Church, 609 Manning Ave., Sumter, with Pastor Marion H. Newton, officiating.

Interment will follow in Hillside Memorial Park, Sumter.

Family will be receiving friends at the home, 3145 Thumb Lane, Sumter, daily from 4 to 8 p.m.

Job’s Mortuary Inc., 312 S. Main St., is in charge of arrangements.
