Woodrow Wilson Brown, 90, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Nov. 14, 2021, at Transitions LifeCare in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Woodrow was born on Aug. 20, 1931, in Mullins, a son of Belton Thomas Brown and Ethel Turbeville Brown and was one of eight children. Both parents died young, and Woodrow grew up in Crosswell Home for Children in Sumter. After high school graduation, he left Crosswell and served in the Marine Corps during the Korean War. Following his military service, he graduated from Elon College in 1959 and enjoyed a long career in pharmaceutical sales. He was a faithful member and elder of First Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church in Gastonia, North Carolina. He spent the past 16 years living in Raleigh and attending Trinity Baptist Church. He loved the Lord, his family and his friends.

Woodrow is survived by his wife, Anita Liles Brown; children, Mark Brown and wife, Allison, Kelley Brown and wife, Alona, Kristi Heckel and husband, Robert, and Wesley Brown; grandchildren, Kevin Brown and wife, Lacey, Kirk Brown and wife, Sarah, Emily Heckel, Blake Heckel, Cooper Brown, Rachael Spilka, Rebecca Spilka and husband, Davis, and Ryan Beck; brother, Belton Brown and wife, Joanna, and their sons, David and John; plus many other nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a great-grandchild, Eliza Brown.

The family will receive visitors at 10 a.m. on Monday at Trinity Baptist Church, 4815 Six Forks Road, Raleigh, North Carolina. Celebration of life will follow at 11 a.m.

Memorials may be made to Crosswell Home for Children or Trinity Baptist Church.
