Manning DMV closed due to staffing shortages

The Manning Department of Motor Vehicles doors shut its door temporarily on Tuesday, Jan. 11.
The Manning office, located at 3721 Alex Harvin Highway, announced on social media they will be closed due to "staffing limitations" until further notice. The department did not confirm if this is related to a spike in COVID-19 cases across the country that is causing similar staff shortages across sectors.
The Manning office was not the only South Carolina DMV to close. It was also announced Tuesday the Dillon office will temporarily close due to staffing limitations. The Belton office in Anderson County closed on Jan. 4, but it recently reopened, according to the South Carolina DMV website.
Residents are urged to contact alternative offices in Bishopville, located at 508 S. Lee St.; Sumter, located at 430 S. Pike St.; or Kingstree, located at 785 Eastland Ave., for regular services including road tests, renewing driver's licenses, International Fuel Tax Agreement/International Registration Plan and other services.
The offices are open 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
If residents have any other questions, contact the DMV headquarters in Blythewood at (803) 896-5000.
