Gibby Lee McNair, 70, husband of Anne Barrett McNair, died Sunday, Sept. 1, 2024, at Prisma Health Richland.

Born July 30, 1954, in Sumter, he was a son of the late Edgar Truitt McNair and Dorothy Gibbons McNair. He was a member of Graham Baptist Church. He was employed as a truck driver for CNA Construction Company and was the owner of McNair Farms. “He who plants a seed beneath the sod and waits to see, believes in God.”

Survivors include his wife of 43 years; two daughters, Brittany McNair and Lee McNair, both of Sumter; a sister, Gloria Beatson (Ralph) of Columbia; a brother, Truitt McNair (Karen) of Sumter; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Graham Baptist Church, 4000 Highway 521 South, Sumter, with the Rev. John Patrick officiating. Burial will be in the Concord Presbyterian Church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Michael Barrett, Tyler Barrett, James Hawthorne, David Martin, Benjamin Ridgeway and Jamie Ridgeway.

Honorary pallbearers will be Donnie Austin, Donnie Branham, C.W. Brunson, Don Brunson, Jimmy Green, Larry Lasseigne, Brad Newman, Claude Newman, Paul Newman Jr., Johnny Spann, Bill Wallace, Francis Watford, the CNA Construction family and members of the Graham Baptist Church Men’s Sunday School Class.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Activity Center at Graham Baptist Church and other times at the home.
