MANNING — On Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2024, retired Capt. Bernice "Toot" McCray passed away peacefully at her residence in Manning.
Born on Monday, May 17, 1954, in Manning, she was the daughter of the late Johnny and Beulah Lemon McCray "Chinese."
Services celebrating her life will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2024, at 11 a.m. from the Historic Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church, 105 Dinkins St., Manning, where Elder Andre' McBride, pastor of the Church of God by Faith of Lynchburg, will officiate. The service of committal will follow in the family plot located in the Church of God by Faith Cemetery, Davis Station Community of Manning.
Public viewing will take place on Monday, Sept. 2, 2024, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Fleming & DeLaine Chapel, 222 W. Boyce St., Manning.
The family is receiving relatives and friends from 4-8 p.m. at the residence, 639 Robson St., Manning. Masks are required.
