McLeod Health hosts Career Fair on April 7

CONWAY - McLeod Health will host a Career Fair from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on April 7 at Miller-Motte College, 2451 Highway 501 in Conway.

The Career Fair will showcase a variety of career opportunities at McLeod Health.

National Library Week will be April 3-9

MANNING - Harvin Clarendon County Library, 215 N. Brooks St., will celebrate National Library Week April 3-9.

If you happen to have an overdue item, this week is the time to return it. In celebration of National Library Week, the library will not collect fines on overdue items that are returned during the week.

Master Gardeners will be selling tomato plants on April 15

MANNING - The Clarendon Master Gardeners will host a tomato plant sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 15 at Land, Parker and Welch, 29 S. Mill St.

The sale will feature new varieties of tomato plants as well as several varieties of heirloom tomato plants.

A new variety of a pepper plant may also be available.

Puddin' Swamp Festival April 7-9 in Turbeville

TURBEVILLE - The Puddin' Swamp Festival will take center stage in Turbeville the weekend of April 7-9 with events every day.

The festival will actually kick off a few days earlier in the month with the Miss Puddin' Swamp Festival Beauty Pageant held April 2. Application requests can be sent to 6mclendons@gmail.com.

The popular Miss Swamp Bottom Pageant, notice the word beauty was omitted, will be held at 5:30 p.m. April 9. Each vote for your favorite participant is just $1, and all proceeds will benefit The Shriners.

The 1st Puddin' Swamp Festival Parade will be held at 5:30 p.m. April 8 on Main Street.

Striped Bass Festival returns on April 29

CLARENDON COUNTY - The Clarendon County Chamber of Commerce is asking for folks to "save the date" for the 2022 Striped Bass Festival scheduled to be held April 19-30.

Rising seniors can apply for Levi Pearson Scholarship

The Levi Pearson Scholarship Foundation is now accepting scholarship applications for rising seniors of Clarendon, Sumter, Lee or Williamsburg counties. Applications can be obtained at https://bit.ly/37PrAg4. All submitted information must be postmarked by April 28.

Eligibility requirements are:

- Must be a resident of Clarendon, Sumter, Lee or Williamsburg County;

- Must be a (junior) rising senior in good standing;

- Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above;

- Must have applied to or considered at least three colleges or universities; and

- Be an active member of a Christian-based congregation.

Vintage Camera Fair set for June 25

The Vintage Camera Fair indoor/outdoor event will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 25, at the center located at 4 Main St., Summerton.

The event will offer a unique opportunity for collectors, professional and amateur vintage gear addicts, as well as area residents, to showcase their antique and vintage cameras, lenses, collectibles, film stocks, retro cameras, paper and images.

Vendors must register before June 1.
