Two young girls, Teanna McFadden and Mari'yah Durant, front and center, are recognized recently by the Housing Authority of the City of Sumter for winning state-level awards in a "What Home Means To Me" poster contest. The contest was part of a National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials long-running art competition that showcases the voices and creativity of children living in affordable housing and their perspectives on the meaning of home and community.

The girls are surrounded by Sumter Housing Authority staff and officials.
