Sumter man, 56, dies of apparent gunshot wound

A Sumter County man has died from an apparent gunshot wound, according to Sumter County Coroner Robert M. Baker.
On Tuesday, Jan. 14, 56-year-old Christopher Abrams died at Prisma Health Tuomey Emergency Room after an incident that occured about 9 p.m. in the area of Brent and Whitehorse streets in Sumter County.
Sumter County Coroner's Office and Sumter County Sheriff's Office are investigating.
Next of kin has been notified.
