SCDOT to close, detour portion of U.S. 521 for repairs near Rembert

COLUMBIA – South Carolina Department of Transportation will close and detour a portion U.S. 521 near Rembert in Sumter County beginning Thursday, Oct. 8.

The closure will be between Ellerbe Mill Road (S-43-460) and TB Wright Road (S-43-109) and will begin overnight Thursday, Oct. 8, and end overnight Sunday, Oct. 11.

A signed detour is in place. Drivers are advised to take Hagood Road (S-43-37) to S.C. 261, then to TB Wright Road (S-43-109) to get back to U.S. 521.

SCDOT asks that drivers slow down and pay attention when driving near the work zone.
