Tami Shane Kicidis Howell, 74, wife of Richard Stephen “Steve” Howell, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, June 21, 2024, at her family home after fighting a long illness.

Born in Union, S.C., on Aug. 2, 1949, she was the daughter of the late James Mitchell Kicidis and Banner Mallissia Whitner Kicidis.
Tami attended Spartanburg Methodist Junior College and graduated from Georgia Southern University with a degree in sociology.
Tami was a dedicated, loving wife and mother who always put her family's needs before her own. She was a social worker and homemaker. She was a strong woman of faith and an active member of her church. It was her life’s mission to bring others to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. She was a youth counselor for many years in the church and impacted many young lives. She graciously opened up her family’s home for Bible studies and church functions. She was president of the UMW at Trinity Methodist Church, served on the church board and was a member of the Sumter Junior Welfare League. She was deeply loved by her family, friends and church. She will dearly be missed.

Tami is survived by her husband, Richard Stephen “Steve” Howell, and their children: Grayson Howell, Marcus Howell (Erin) and Banner Mallissia Howell White (David). Tami and Steve also have nine grandchildren: Caleb Howell, Blake Howell Hansen, Woods White, Rivers White, Satcher Howell, Scarlett Howell, Berkley White, Luke Howell and Riggins Howell. She has two surviving brothers, Michael Kicidis (Patsy) and Jimmy Kicidis, both of Charlotte. She is the daughter-in-law of the late William T. Howell and Edith Howell of Union.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 27, at Christ Community Church with the Rev. Mark Yoder officiating and visitation following the service.
