Sally Harrison Wilson, 83, widow of Harry Edward Wilson, died on Friday, July 7, 2023, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital.

Born on March 10, 1940, in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Edward M. Harrison Sr. and Eloise Jenkins Harrison. Mrs. Wilson was a longtime member of Sumter First Baptist Church. She retired from the Sumter County Auditor’s Office after more than 30 years of service. She was a longtime resident at Solomons Home and was extremely grateful for the love and kindness shared by the staff during her time there.

Survivors include two daughters, Montee Wellman (Phillip) of Chattanooga, Tennessee, and Paula Kennedy (Mike) of Clarksville, Tennessee; five grandchildren, Britnee White (Ryan), Brett Wellman (Austin), Matt McWhirter (Jordan), Josh McWhirter (Kylie) and Taylor McWhirter (Emma); six great-grandchildren; one brother, Edward "Eddie" M. Harrison Jr. of Sumter; one sister, Martha Ann Watt (Johnny) of Sumter; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, James Brooks Wellman; a sister-in-law, Jeanette Harrison; and a nephew, John A. Watt III.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday in the Sumter Cemetery, officiated by the Rev. Dr. Bob Calvert.

The family will receive friends at the home of her brother, Eddie Harrison, 1230 Cutleaf Drive.
