Lee County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a fourth suspect in the killing of 18-year-old Ra’heem Mack.

On Thursday, Aug. 13, the sheriff’s office responded to a reported shooting at the intersection of Davis Street and Dogwood Drive in Bishopville. There, deputies discovered Mack, 18, dead from a gunshot wound. Two other juvenile victims involved were not injured, according to the agency.

Deputies later learned that the shooting was in relation to an ongoing dispute which had spanned for some time, the sheriff’s office said.

The arrests of the alleged shooters, Reginald Tryone Epps III, 19, of Lynchburg, De’marcus Qualik Atkinson, 17, of Bishopville, and Ty’shyn Cortilus Williams, 18, of Camden, occurred in August. All three were charged with murder, two counts of attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime and criminal conspiracy, according to the agency.

On Sept. 22, the sheriff’s office announced its fourth arrest in the investigation of Mack’s death.

Lawanna Joe, 47, of Lynchburg, was charged with accessory after the fact of a felony, according to the sheriff’s office.

The investigation indicated that Joe knew of the shooting after it occurred and took steps to assist in concealing evidence, including the vehicle used during the shooting. Joe is the mother of Epps, according to the sheriff’s office.

Investigators also determined the shooting was in relation to a fatal shooting that occurred on Aug. 8 on Nash Road where Shaquander Shavon Mixon, 43, died from a gunshot wound.

Both shootings have been linked to another shooting that occurred the same day along Maple Drive in Bishopville city limits, investigators said. An investigation by Bishopville Police Department and Lee County Sheriff’s Office is ongoing.

The sheriff’s office has assisted the police department with the arrest of four individuals in connection to the Maple Drive shooting. Nickael Simon, Mekhi Watters and a juvenile, all of Bishopville, were each charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, shooting into an occupied dwelling and criminal conspiracy, according to Bishopville Police Chief J.D. Dellinger.

Epps is also charged in connection to the shooting and faces similar charges.

An investigation into the Nash Road shooting is ongoing. No arrests have been made at this time.

The investigation into Mack’s death continues, and the sheriff’s office anticipates more arrests in the future.

Anyone with information regarding any of the three shootings is asked to contact the Lee County Sheriff’s Office at (803) 484-5353 or submit tips anonymously through the sheriff’s office’s app.
