Lee County School District dismissing early today, moving to eLearning days Wednesday-Thursday

Posted

Lee County School District will dismiss elementary schools at 1:30 p.m. today, Aug. 6, and middle and high schools at 2 p.m. today.
Wednesday and Thursday, Aug. 7-8,  have been designated as eLearning days for all students in the district. This means schools and office buildings will be closed, and all activities, including athletic events and field trips are canceled. Because Lee County School District is an approved eLearning district, these days will not have to be made up, and lessons and assignments will be posted in each teacher's virtual classroom. Students will complete eLearning assignments later if they are unable to participate due to power outages, lack of internet service, or other barriers.
Lee County School District staff members are expected to be available virtually during normal work hours on Wednesday, Aug. 7, and Thursday, Aug. 8.
Updates will be sent via the automated telephone call system, district website, district Facebook page, social media and local media outlets.
