ARCHIE LEROY GEDDINGS
Archie Leroy Geddings, 81, husband of Virginia “Sandra” Liles Geddings, died Friday, Oct. 18, 2024, at his home in Lugoff.
Born Nov. 2, 1942, in Sumter, he was a son of the late Eddie Lee Geddings and Cornell Griffin Geddings. He was a member of New Start Community Church of the Nazarene and retired from Dixie Tools and Fasteners. He was a devoted husband and a loving father and grandfather. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Sandra; three children, Wesley Geddings (Robin), Trent Geddings (Christie) and Amy Geddings; grandchildren, Reid Geddings, Madison Kingsley (Grant), Brody Geddings, Mackenzie Geddings, Rhett Geddings, Ryder Abrams, Teagan Geddings, Kennedy Geddings and Lauren Abrams; brothers, George Geddings and Gilbert Geddings (Betty); a sister, Fannie Ardis; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Maggie Hudson, Ethel Meade, Mamie Geddings, Vivian Hudson and John Geddings.
A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21, 2024, in the Geddings Cemetery with Pastor Donna Green and Pastor Tony Lupton officiating.
Pallbearers will be Brian Harrell, Noah Scurry, Robbie Pack, Billy Hudson, Dondi Avins, John Cockerill and Travis Geddings.
The family will receive friends following the service at the home, 50 Lowoods Lane, Sumter.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shriners Children’s Hospital, P.O. Box 947765, Atlanta, GA 30394.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Kershaw County Hospice for their loving care and compassion.
