ANTHONY RUSSELL ALFORD

Anthony Russell Alford, age 59, beloved partner of Richard Wayne Duncan Jr., passed away on Saturday, Jan. 15, 2022, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital.

Born in Sumter, he was a son of Barbara Ann Coward Alford and the late Raymond Turner Alford. Tony loved to travel, no matter whether it was a simple road trip or traveling abroad. He loved all animals, especially his dogs. He will be remembered as a very loving partner, son, nephew and father to his pets. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Surviving in addition to his partner Richard and mother Barbara are two uncles, Thurmond Coward Jr. and his wife, Myrtle, of Salem and John Walter Coward Sr. and his wife, Hilda, of Sumter.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday at Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery with the Rev. Cheryl Kammermann officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from noon to 1 p.m. at Bullock Funeral Home.
