Sumter County road closures due to floods

The Sumter County Sheriff's Office alerts the public of road closures following Sunday night’s rainfall.

As of 1 p.m. Tuesday, the following roads are closed or impassable, according to the Sumter County Emergency Management and Sumter County Public Works:

Lizard Road; access to residences are not affected

McLaurin Road from Hwy 261 to Dowry Road

Gibbs Dairy Road at branch is closed; the road is accessible from the other end

Liberty at Fort Street; Fort Street is closed

Calhoun Street at Oswego Road

Frierson Road at Thomas Sumter Highway

Entrance to Kel-Sam Farms from Thomas Sumter Highway

Hewitt Road from 2469 Hewitt Road to Douglas Swamp Road; this address is still accessible from the Narrow Paved Road
