Youth, their families and the South Sumter community enjoyed one last day of play on Thursday, July 30, ending the summer-long Summer Family Fun Day at South Sumter Park.
According to Sumter City Councilman Calvin Hastie, every Thursday between June and July, children and adults were taught the fundamentals of golf, pickleball, chess and basketball. The park's airnasium provided a perfect space to play, keeping the heat or rain from ruining the fun.
Hastie extended his thanks to Doc's Delights, Littles Personal Cleaners, St. Matthew Missionary Baptist Church, Annie Thorpe and South Sumter Neighborhood Association for their support.
