Pedestrian fatality occurs in Sumter on Sunday

A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle on Sunday, June 7.
According to Cpl. David Jones with South Carolina Highway Patrol, a 2017 Ford Fusion was traveling south on Prosser Avenue near West Foxworth Mill Road in Sumter about 9:30 p.m. on Sunday when the vehicle struck the pedestrian.
The pedestrian was transported by EMS to Prisma Health and later succumbed to their injuries.
The collision remains under investigation by the SCHP.
