JOSEPH L. BROOKS

Joseph Le'Trez Brooks died Thursday, Dec. 4, 2008, at his residence in Horatio.

Born in Columbia, he was the oldest of three children born to Joseph Brooks and the late Patricia Hunter-Brooks. He attended Crestwood High School and was employed with Sil/Mar Construction Co.

Surviving are his father, Joseph Brooks of Sumter; sisters, Jose Victoria Coakley and Sanquinetta Brooks of Sumter; a brother, Andre Brooks of the home; and his grandparents, Charlie and Elizabeth Hunter of Horatio.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Willow Grove AME Church, Horatio, with the pastor, the Rev. Antonio M. Bonner, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Charlie Howard and the Rev. H.A. Hinton, eulogist. Interment will follow in the Willow Grove Church cemetery.

Mr. Brooks will be placed in the church for public viewing from 1 p.m until the hour of service.

The public may view Mr. Brooks at the Palmer Memorial Chapel from 1 to 8 p.m. today.

The family will receive friends at the residence of his grandparents, 7670 Richbow Road, Horatio.
