TURBEVILLE – A 26-year-old inmate at Turbeville Correctional Institution died Thursday at a local hospital after he was stabbed in a fight at the correctional facility earlier that afternoon.
Jerry Wilson Jr. died at 1:30 p.m. on May 18, according to Clarendon County Coroner Jacqueline Blackwell.
“An autopsy will be performed on Wilson on May 23 in Newberry,” Blackwell added.
According to a news release from the South Carolina Department of Corrections, “the case is being investigated as a homicide by the SCDC Inspector General’s Office and the Clarendon County Coroner with assistance of the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division.”
