Clemson, South Alabama split

CLEMSON - The Clemson Tigers split a doubleheader with South Alabama on Saturday at Doug Kingsmore Stadium, winning the opener 7-2 before losing the second game 4-3.

In the opener, Bryce Teodosio's grand slam in the fifth inning and five strong innings from freshman starting pitcher Davis Sharpe propelled No. 14 Clemson to the win.

Sam Hall scored on Logan Davidson's sacrifice fly in the first inning, then Teodosio belted his first career grand slam to center with two outs in the fifth inning.

Sharpe earned the win in his first game as a Tiger. The right-hander allowed just two hits, no runs and two walks with eight strikeouts.

In the second game, Felix Aberouette hit a 3-run homer in the fourth inning to lead South Alabama to the win.

Clemson won the series 2-1.
