Florence woman, 49, dies in single-vehicle wreck on I-95 near Sumter

A Florence woman has been identified as the victim in a single-vehicle wreck that occurred the evening of Sunday, Oct. 12.

The wreck occurred at about 6 p.m. on I-95 North between mile markers 141 and 146. 

Felicia Williams Sims, 49, of Florence, was pronounced dead on scene from injuries she sustained in a single-vehicle wreck, according to Sumter County Coroner Robbie Baker. 

Sims was a passenger in the vehicle, Baker said.

Next of kin has been notified and an autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 15, at Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. 

An investigation is ongoing by South Carolina Highway Patrol and Sumter County Coroner’s Office.
