Elementary students visit Sumter firefighters

In honor of Fire Prevention Week, Sumter School District elementary students visited local firefighters to learn critical home and school safety practices. Fire officials walked them through basic fire prevention rules, smoke alarm checks and exit plans. "Thank you to our local fire departments for keeping our schools and city safe," the district wrote on its social media.
