WILLIAM B. "BILL" DORITY JR.

William B. “Bill” Dority Jr., 83, widower of Patsy Griffith Dority and Alma Evans Dority, died Monday, Aug. 12, 2024, at his home.
Born Oct. 28, 1940, in Bishopville, he was a son of the late William B. Dority Sr. and the late Eva Hancock Dority. Mr. Dority was a member of Concord Presbyterian Church. He retired from Frito-Lay after 31 years of service.
Survivors include two children, Chris Dority (Ginny) and Debbie Miles (Jimmy) both of Sumter; four grandchildren, William “Witt” J. Dority (Emilee), Casey Molina (Josh), Andrew Miles (Sarah), and Matthew Miles (Sarah); six great-grandchildren, Savanna Molina, Isabella Molina, Harper Molina, Clint Dority, Wyatt Dority and Wittlee Dority; and a very special friend, Mary Denton.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Carolyn Beasley and Blonnie Brown.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, 2024, at Concord Presbyterian Church officiated by the Rev. Jon Beane. Burial will be in the Concord Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, 2024, at Concord Presbyterian Church and from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2024, at his home.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Prisma Health Tuomey Hospice for the compassionate and caring services they provided.
