WILLIAM ABURN

William Sylvan Aburn, 77, widower of Patricia Ann Watts Aburn, entered his eternal rest on Thursday, Dec. 1, 2022, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Born Sept. 18, 1945, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, he was a son of the late Don W. Aburn and the late Anita Jean Bentz Aburn. Bill was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He retired from Advance Auto Parts (Western Auto) as a store manager after 20 years of employment. He was also a former member of the Howard County Emergency Management Association for several years and the Sumter Amateur Radio Association.

He is survived by his son, William P. Aburn of Kokomo, Indiana; daughter, Traci Aburn Nelson, and her husband, Josh Morrell, of Sumter; three grandchildren, Braun Aburn of Kokomo, Indiana, Bethany Kincaid of Kokomo, Indiana, and Tannor Nelson of Whiteland, Indiana; sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Gregg Richards, of Wabash, Indiana; nieces, Teresa (Scott) Dinkins, Tonia Richards and Tiffany (Michael) Kaltenmark; and several in-laws, great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 54 years.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home Chapel officiated by the Rev. Chris Moore. Burial with military honors will be in the Pine Grove United Methodist Cemetery in Turbeville.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and other times at the home.
