WASHINGTON DINGLE

Washington Dingle, 91, died Feb. 14, 2011, at Windsor Manor Nursing Center in the Silver community of Clarendon County.

Born Dec. 20, 1919, in Clarendon County, he was a son of the late Wash and Susan Boyd Dingle. He was joined in holy matrimony to Susan Hilton. This union was blessed with eight sons and six daughters. Washington was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was a man of strong conviction, which was evident, as he showed it in the importance of providing for his family.

Survivors besides his loving wife of 67 years include eight devoted sons, Charles (Ann) Dingle, Washington (Mary, ex-wife) Dingle Jr., John (Ruth) Dingle, John Buck (Elizabeth) Dingle, Robert Dingle, Leroy (Deloris) Dingle, George (Annette) Dingle, and a special son, Clarence Pearson; five loving daughters, Mary (Donald) Bethune, Hattie (Charlie Sr.) Weathers, Geneva (James) Sweat, Suester (George, ex-husband) Ellison and Theresa (Wilbert) Whack; an adopted daughter, Pernell Hammett; two brothers-in-law, Prince David (Hester) Hilton and Eugene (Jessie) Hilton; 45 adoring grandchildren; and 40 adoring great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 19, 2011, at Triumph the Church and Kingdom of God in Christ with Prince Sampson Pearson, pastor, officiating. Burial followed at Carolina Johnson Cemetery.

MOSES GARY Sr.

Moses "Mose" Gary Sr., 82, husband of Doris "Ruby" Wilson Gary and son of the late George Gary and Mell Felder, was born Aug. 28, 1928, in Summerton. He died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2011, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.

He attended the public schools in Clarendon County. Mr. Gary accepted Christ as his Savior and joined Mulberry Missionary Baptist Church where he was a faithful member serving with the Senior Citizen Ministry. He enjoyed worshipping every Sunday and loved to praise God. He was employed by Carolina Furniture Works, from which he retired after more than 20 years of service.

Survivors besides his wife include five daughters, Joanne Wilson and Rudine Richardson of Sumter, Brenda (Eddie) Pringle of Columbia; Cynthia (Eugene) Porter of Batesburg, Vanessa (Israel) Bowman of Augusta, Ga.; two sons, Jerome (Karla) Gary of Charlotte and Larry Wilson of the home; four sisters, Margaret (Johnny) Moore of Deerfield, Fla., Rebecca and Essie Mae Felder of Summerton, and Irene Felder of Bronx, N.Y.; two brothers, Harry Felder of New York City and Isaac Felder of Summerton; 23 grandchildren, of which three were reared in the home, Charmaine Gray, Shakeila Brunson and James Brunson Jr.; 25 great-grandchildren, three reared in the home, Chris Dwyer Jr., Chainque Dwyer and Sa'Quon Brunson; one adopted daughter, Sharon Housey; two adopted grandsons, Bernard Williams Jr. and Theodore McShane; one additional daughter-in-law, Deloris Ann Gary; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Moses Gary Jr.; mother-in-law, Emma Wilson; father-in-law, Jake Wilson; and a sister, Geneva Williams.

Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 21, 2011, at Mulberry Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Nate Brown, assisted by the Rev. Jimmy Ceasar, Minister William Dukes, the Rev. Eugene Winn and the Rev. Dr. Friendly Gadson. Interment followed in Mulberry Cemetery.

The family received friends at the home, 876 S. Harvin St.
