Sumter Today: USC Sumter says goodbye to its Opportunity Scholars students

Posted

The Opportunity Scholars Program at USC Sumter offers low-income, first-generation college students support and advisement in their freshman year to help them build a strong foundation for success in college and life after. Program participants have access to smaller freshman classes and specialized tutoring, academic advising, study abroad opportunities and cultural enrichment programs. Students receive a tuition reduction and graduate at a higher rate than the average general student population. With schools remaining closed and graduation ceremonies canceled, USC Sumter said their goodbyes to program students for the year with a drive-through celebration.
