The Sumter Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority was organized Oct. 17, 1947. The sorority's chapter members have responded to the needs of Sumter, Lee and Clarendon counties individually and collectively with great zeal, supporting numerous organizations. In support of our commitment to scholarship and standards, annually we give at minimum a $1,000 scholarship to high school seniors in each of the service areas.
