Sumter police seeking information on reported shooting on Friday

Sumter Police Department seeks the public’s help with information regarding shots-fired calls early Friday.

Initial information indicated that shots-fired calls came in after 2 a.m. on Feb. 23  after some sort of gathering outside of Alice Drive Apartments. According to the department, multiple gunshots were fired, striking nearby vehicles and buildings; no injuries were reported.

Officers are working to determine those involved and what led to the shooting.
