Sumter officers identify 2 men in connection to nonfatal gas station shooting

The Sumter Police Department is working to locate two men in connection to a Thursday night shooting that left a man critically injured.

Roger Lee Gooden, 40, of West Bartlette Street, and Deslyn Jermaine White, 35, of Dollard Drive, are wanted on attempted murder charges in connection to a shooting incident that occurred outside of the El Cheapo gas station on South Guignard Drive after 10 p.m., said Tonyia McGirt, public information officer for the Sumter Police Department.

A 24-year-old  man was found shot inside his vehicle that was parked outside the business. He was transported to a Columbia area hospital where he was listed in critical condition Friday afternoon, McGirt said.
