Sumter officers seek help locating 2 men accused of gunfire incident

Two men are wanted by the Sumter Police Department in connection to an exchange of gunfire Wednesday outside of an Atlantic Street business.
Denetrick Holland, 21, of South Washington Street, and Dae’veon Nelson-Peterson, 19, of Kent Street, were reportedly seen near Atlantic Street Grocery before noon Wednesday as gunfire was exchanged between passengers inside a passing SUV(described as a white, older-model Toyota) and individuals outside of the store, said Tonyia McGirt, public information officer for the police department.
No one was hurt during the incident, but multiple vehicles parked nearby were struck, McGirt said.
An investigation is continuing, and officers are working to identify other individuals involved.
