The Sumter Police Department seeks information leading to the arrest of two suspects in a home robbery on Thursday morning.

According to Tonyia McGirt, public information officer for the department, several people were at a birthday celebration at a Royal Avenue residence when two armed, masked men forced their way into the home around 2 a.m. The men ordered everyone to get on the ground and hand over their purses, wallets, jewelry and cellphones, McGirt said.

A gunshot was fired, and one of the five victims inside the home, a 52-year-old man, was shot. He is in critical but stable condition, McGirt said.

Both robbers were wearing dark-colored clothing and masks, McGirt said.
