Sumter, Lee deputies seek public's help in Lynchburg death investigation

Sumter and Lee County deputies are asking for the public’s help after a body was found in Lynchburg Monday evening.

According to Maj. Randell Stewart of the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office, the body of Morris Luke Nance, 30, of Lee County, was found in a roadway near the 2000 block of Goodman Road at about 9 p.m. in Lynchburg.

He was pronounced dead on scene by the Sumter County Coroner’s Office. The agency could not comment on whether foul play is suspected, Stewart said.  

Next of kin has been notified by the Lee County Coroner’s Office.
