Sumter Elks Lodge 855 names Citizen of the Year

Sumter Elks Lodge 855 recently presented the Citizen of the Year award for 2022-23 to Mike Colboth, center. At left is Sumter Lodge Secretary Harold "Bud" Butler and at right Sumter Lodge Exalted Ruler (president) Fred Kubala. This award is given to someone, not necessarily an Elk, who has contributed in a special way to improving the local community. This individual is someone who has shown leadership in the community, contributed voluntary service and is recognized as being an all-around good citizen. Mike lives in Ohio and has traveled to Sumter for 11 years to help with the preparation and operation of the Terror Trail held on the grounds of the lodge. Money raised from the Terror Trail benefits Sumter Elks Lodge 855 and Boy Scout Troop 342, Shaw Air Force Base.
