2 former correctional officers, both of Sumter, charged with misconduct at 2 different institutions

Two Sumter women, both former correctional officers, have been charged with misconduct in office, according to separate news releases from the South Carolina Department of Corrections.


Former Wateree River Correctional Institution Officer Krystle Latese Lewis, 37, was charged with two counts of misconduct in office according to a Sept. 6 news release. Charges against Lewis involve allegedly receiving money from and sending photos and texts to an inmate on his contraband cellphone.

Former Turbeville Correctional Institution Officer Arieyelle Shiquise Coulette, 25, is charged with misconduct in office according to a Sept. 10 release. Charges against Coulette involve allegedly receiving more than $22,000 from inmates and sending more than $6,700 to inmates through Cash App.
