UPDATE: Suspect arrested in connection to weekend fatal shooting

UPDATE: Donta Dowe was arrested Tuesday afternoon with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Office, according to Deputy Adrienne Sarvis, public informatioin officer for the Sumter County Sheriff's Office.

The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a 23-year-old man accused of killing another 23-year-old who was shot outside a Peach Orchard Road bar on Sunday.
Donta Dowe is wanted for the fatal shooting of Nigel Scott Batts, who died of injuries from a shooting outside the Melted Whiskey after 2 a.m., said Deputy Adrienne Sarvis, public information officer for the sheriff’s office. He faces murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime and possession of a weapon by a felon charges.
Dowe is 6 feet tall and weighs 300 pounds. He has brown eyes and black hair.
