Sumter children plant garden at St. Matthew Missionary Baptist Church

Youth in South Sumter are flexing their green thumbs, thanks to a local church.
St. Matthew Missionary Baptist Church started its church garden with some help from young gardeners last week. Sumter County Councilman Calvin Hastie said children will be taught how to care for the plants properly, in hopes of harvesting them by Christmas.
