COLUMBIA – South Carolina ETV and Public Radio (SCETV) will livestream the annual Commanders Brief to the Governor on Wednesday, Sept. 23, from 10 a.m. to noon in Columbia. During the event, military commanders of South Carolina’s eight military installations and Fort Gordon, Georgia, will provide updates to Gov. Henry McMaster, South Carolina Department of Veterans’ Affairs Secretary Todd B. McCaffrey and Speaker of the House Murrell Smith.
The briefing will cover critical issues affecting military families and operations in South Carolina. Topics are designed to foster collaboration between military leaders and state officials to address these vital concerns and ensure South Carolina remains a top destination for service members and their families.
Secretary McCaffrey will lead the discussion with the following military installation leaders:
— Shaw Air Force Base – Col. Hugh Walker, commander
— Fort Gordon – Maj. Gen. Ryan Janovic, commanding general
— Marine Corps Recruit Depot (MCRD) Parris Island – Col. Richard (Clark) Mitchell, G-3
— Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Beaufort – Col. Trevor Felter, commander
— Beaufort Naval Hospital – Capt. Juan Rosario, commander
— Joint Base Lindsey Graham – Capt. Jason Anderson, deputy commander
— Coast Guard Charleston – Capt. Shawn Lansing, sector commander
— Fort Jackson – Maj. Gen. Daryl Hood, commanding general
— National Guard – Maj. Gen. Rob Stilwell, adjutant general
