If you didn't early vote in the S.C. House District 50 election, Election Day is on Tuesday, June 3, and is the final date to make your voice heard.

District 50 encompasses parts of Sumter, Lee and Kershaw counties, including Bishopville, Rembert and portions of Dalzell. Visit scvotes.gov to find your voting location.

Republican candidate William "Bill" Oden and Democratic candidate Keishan Scott will be the two names on the ballot.

This past April, Scott beat opponent Carl Whetsel by 11 votes to be the Democratic candidate. Oden was unopposed as the Republican candidate.

The seat was formerly occupied by former Rep. Will Wheeler, who resigned in January this year to seek a 12th Circuit Court Judge seat, which by law requires he be out of the General Assembly for at least one year.

The candidates' Q&As are available to read for free online at https://tinyurl.com/mup5b6ka.

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day, and The Item will report on the winner on election night at www.theitem.com and in the June 7-10 weekend edition.
