TURBEVILLE - Raheem Naquan Pearson, 17, died Sunday, Sept. 26, 2010, at Clarendon Memorial Hospital, Manning.

Born March 28, 1993, in Florence, he was a son of Ronnie Pearson and Laura Ann McLeod. He was a senior at East Clarendon High School. At an early age, he accepted Christ as his Savior and joined Emwell Baptist Church, where he was an active member of the youth choir and later was a member of the praise team and male chorus. He was an employee of Kentucky Fried Chicken.

Survivors besides his parents of Turbeville include his maternal grandmother, Annie Burgess of Olanta; paternal grandfather, Donnie (Cynthia) Pearson of Kingstree; four aunts, Little Olivia Pearson, Chyna Burgess, Lisa (Tommy) Chapman and Jenell (Maurice) William; four uncles, Cato (Tonya) Burgess, Henry (Patricia) McLeod and Chris (Christy) Burgess; great-grand-aunts, Monzell McLeod, Mildred and Almete Pearson; great-grand-uncles, the Rev. Lucious (Shirley) Wheeler, Edward (Ola Mae) Pearson and John Pearson; and special friend, Melody Oliver.

Funeral services were held Friday, Oct. 1, at the East Clarendon High School gymnasium, 1171 Pope St., Turbeville, with Elder William Boyd officiating. Burial was held in Saint Mark AME Church cemetery, Olanda.

The family received friends at the home, 1702 Farmwood Circle, Turbeville.
