Police report no injuries in Dillon Park shooting

The Sumter Police Department reported no injuries following a shooting at Dillon Park on Thursday.

According to an incident report, several officers responded to a shots-fired call made after 8 p.m. at Dillon Park.

Upon arrival, an officer was flagged down by an anonymous complainant that said the shooting occurred in the parking lot near North Wise Drive. Officers investigated the area and discovered shattered glass, several vehicle parts and three 9mm shell casings in the parking lot.

Officers were advised that three vehicles fled the scene after the shooting - a white/cream vehicle, which appeared to be a late 2000's model of a Nissan Altima or Mazda 626, and two dark sedans. It is suspected that one of the vehicles involved was damaged.

An investigation is ongoing.
