Modestine Van Buren, 96, widow of Willie Van Buren, died on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at Sumter East Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born on Feb. 27, 1927, in Sumter, a daughter of the late Steward Rose and Leola Kirby.
The family requests that face masks and social distancing be observed during visitation at the home, 1610 S. Guignard Parkway.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Williams Funeral Home Inc.
