MARY BARTLETTE STEWART

Mary Bartlette Stewart, 62, widow of Arthur Robert Stewart Jr., died on Saturday, Nov. 28, 2020, at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital.

Born on May 26, 1958, in Sumter, she was a daughter of the late Ervin Phillips Bartlette and Mary Edora Davis Bartlette. She attended Bethesda Church of God and was employed at Blue Ridge Nursing Center. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and sister.

Survivors include two children, Adam Nicholas Stewart (Renee) of Sumter and Amanda Roupe (Brent) of Sumter; four grandchildren, Abygail Roupe, Millie Roupe, Avonté Stewart and Taylor Grace Stewart; three sisters, Joyce Copeland of Bishopville, Susan Parnell (Robert Scott) of Sumter and Phyllis Buckner (Pat) of Sumter; six nieces and nephews, Matthew Wilkie (Amber), Ariel Floyd (Alex), Phillip Wilkie (Kelsey), Courtney Moss (Mike), Jeremy Buckner and Ferris Fender (Kenny); great-niece, Madisyn Wilkie; three great-nephews, Gabriel Buckner, Lincoln Fender and Travis Wilkie; and an aunt, Wilton Wheeler Mitchum (Jack) of Sumter.

She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Brittany Baird Stewart; and two brothers-in-law, Josey Copeland and Matt Wilkie Sr.

A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Bethesda Church of God with the Rev. Al Sims officiating. Burial will be at Sumter Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Thomas Riddick, Tommy Squires, Pat Buckner, Phillip Wilkie, Jeremy Buckner and Mike Moss.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home.

The family would like to express their appreciation to Dr. Aaron Provisor, Dr. Chaye Hertzel and the Medical 5 nursing staff at Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital for all of their care and compassion.
