MARVIN LAWS

Funeral service for Marvin Laws will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday at Church of God by Faith No. 1, 609 Atlantic St., Sumter. Interment will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday at Fort Jackson National Cemetery in Columbia.

A public viewing will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. today at the mortuary.

Marvin was born on Oct. 1, 1960, in Sumter, to the late Elder David Laws Sr. and Mother Minnie Harris Laws.

In addition to his parents, Marvin was preceded in death by Willie George Harris, Albert Roberts, Randall Harris, David Laws and Kenneth Laws.

Marvin departed this life on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2022, in Sumter.

Marvin leaves to cherish fond and loving memories: his wife, Marilynn Laws; stepson, Bruce Beacham; two sisters, Minnie (George) Rhodes and Lillie Jackson; two brothers, Byron (Peggy) Laws and Tyrone Balls; two sisters-in-law, Loretta Laws and Betty Dawson; father-in-law and mother-in-law, William and Rosa Youmans; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family is receiving friends at 1115 Twins Lakes Drive, Sumter, and 829 Weeks St., Sumter.
