Manning man killed in motorcycle wreck

MANNING – A 69-year-old Manning man was killed Saturday afternoon in a motorcycle wreck on Cecil Road in Clarendon County.

William Burling Wright died at the scene around 5 p.m., according to South Carolina Highway Patrol Master Trooper David Jones.

Wright was driving a 2020 Harley-Davidson motorcycle west on Cecil Road when his motorcycle went off the right side of the roadway, struck a ditch and overturned. Wright who was not wearing a helmet was ejected from the motorcycle.

Clarendon County Coroner Jacqueline Blackwell said she scheduled an autopsy for this week.

This SCHP is investigating the wreck.
