PICKENS - Linda Jane Carter Robinson, formerly of 258 Turner Road, went home to be with her heavenly Father on Oct. 4, 2010, at Baptist Easley Hospital in her 64th year.

She was born in San Francisco, Calif., to the late B.D. "Tiny" and Ida Watson Carter. She spent her childhood in Panama and Texas. Upon her father's retirement from the U.S. Army, the family moved to Pickens in 1958. Linda was a graduate of Pickens High School and worked as the in-school suspension coordinator at Pickens Junior High School, until her retirement in 1987. A dedicated follower of Jesus Christ, she was a member of Pickens View Wesleyan Church for 52 years.

Surviving are a daughter, Susan R. Drose and husband, Ricky, of Manning; grandchildren, Frank Drose and Laura Drose; longtime companion, Chuck Turbett; and special friend and neighbor, Donna Owens.

The family expresses sincere appreciation to Chuck for his love, compassion and devotion and to Donna for her friendship to Linda.

A gravesides service was held Thursday, Oct. 7, at Hillcrest Memorial Park with the Rev. Foster Gentry officiating.
